Have a great Christmas...

And a HUGE thank you to all our volunteers. Here's to a just as successful 2024.

Warm Hub...

OK - maybe not as warm as we would like sometimes - but we are having issues with the heaters so please bear with us on that - we WILL sort it out.

Our warm hub is open on Christmas day from 10am until 4pm so please pop in to say hello, have a warm drink, biscuit and a mince pie, or bring your Christmas dinner and prepare or heat it up in the kitchen. John will be there for a chat, he has presents to hand out, he likes a game of cards, he will watch the Kings speech or a film on the big screen. Its all very informal, come and go as you please, the heating will be on and the company merry, not with alcohol for me though - I have a long drive that evening.

Because John is on holiday after Christmas until the 8th January, the warm hubs will temporarily close and re-open on the 8th. If anyone feels the need for company, somewhere warm to go for a cuppa and a chat, please do not sit at home and moan, visit a neighbor, a friend, pick up the phone and call somebody or go to a local cafe or pub. Reach out - people are there for you if you let them know they are needed. And if you know somebody who needs company over Christmas and New Year, please go and visit them. Nobody should be cold or alone.

New Clubs for the Younger Generation...

If all goes well, there will be several new clubs starting in the new year targeted at the younger generation. These will only happen if you GET INVOLVED. We will need people to lead and help run these groups, without volunteers they will never get off the ground. Please support us, you can register as a volunteer on our web site.

For parents, babies and toddlers we have a story time and a Cylch Ti a Fi / Mother and toddler group.

For school age children we have an Urdd club, Scouts and a Youth Club.

We also hope to make the snooker club more accessible to young people so if you are a current club member, or thinking of joining - please use our volunteer sign up form if you can help make that happen.

Work at the Hall...

A huge thank you goes to Mike, our new volunteer maintenance guy. He is already making a difference tackling jobs around the hall. We need more Mikes though, so if you are handy at DIY, a skilled tradesman or respond well to being given a paintbrush, we can use your help. There is a volunteering sign up form on our web site or just pop in and chat to John.

The next time you come in the hall main entrance, please pause to admire the shiny new doors. The entrance foyer is now fully enclosed and we plan to move the development officer (me) into the old ticket office and re-instate the ticket window. The foyer and entrance way will become the warm hub and an information center, with literature to help direct you to useful services and the development officer on hand to give support and advice on any issue, maybe not on relationships though.

The main hall will be on limited availability in January and February because the old refreshment area is being ripped out and replaced with shiny new stuff. If you need the hall, still contact us, we will not know what is possible until the work starts.

New and Improved Web Site...

Our new web site is going live soon, it is available to preview now. It will be a one stop place to see whats going on in the hall, make a booking, update your contact information with us, sign up to receive newsletters like this by email. plus much more. Information will be replicated on social media and on posters distributed around the town.
